DeGeneres voiced Dory in the 2003 animated classic, which is still Pixar's highest-grossing original film.
Ellen DeGeneres is in negotiations to reprise her role in Disney/Pixar's plannedFinding Nemo sequel.
Assuming the deal comes together, DeGeneres would voice Dory, a blue tang fish who was suffering from short-term memory loss in the 2003 original film.
The original, which won the Academy award for best animated feature, is still the highest-grossing orignal Pixar movie, earning $868 million to date worldwide,
The first Nemo, like several Disney properties, is getting a 3D update. The Pixar classic will be rereleased in theaters next month.
The news comes a few weeks before DeGeneres’ long-running talk show returns for its 10th season. The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which delivered 3.2 million viewers last season, is the most lucrative daytime talk show currently on TV, according to Kantar Media.
DeGeneres is represented by ICM and Morris Yorn.
